If I recall correctly, the hamstring/groin tear or whatever it was he suffered against Arizona (week 2 ironically) last year was supposed to keep him out 3-4 weeks, and returned after missing just one game. I doubt he plays Sunday night but after reading that, I fully expect him out there against Detroit next week.

The "Jay isn't tough" narrative bothers me far more than "he sucks". At least the latter can be debated. The former should be so far out the window at this point. Dude is a tough SOB.

Yes, this and the "Bears fans loathe Jay Cutler" narrative drive me nuts. I know there are meatballs out there that don't like Jay, but I would say 90% of Bears fans I know either like him or at worst are 'meh' on him.

I'd say 90% is way high

Do we hang out in the same circle or something? lol

I'm certain a complete sample of Chicagoans wouldn't be 90%, but among people I know its roughly that high. In fact I can only really think of 1 person I know that is completely negative on Cutler (other than wanting to move on from him and get our QB of the future).

My point was, everytime I read a national perspective on Jay, they always mention how Bears fans as a whole cannot stand him.

i think they say he's polarizing among fans, which he is...i've never seen it painted as they all hate him.

90% of Bear fans I know hate him. They all wanted him to be Aaron Rodgers and bemoan his salary

I've seen way too many instances of the stupid horsefeathering gun t-shirt -- that I can't believe was ever made or sold -- in the wild...

Mike Ditka, Chicago meatball legend:

"If they don't like the country they don't like our flag ... get the hell out."

.....

"My choice is, I like this country, I respect our flag, and I don't see all the atrocities going on in this country that people say are going on."

No I don't expect anyone to be surprised by these quotes.

Even Ditka picked the Cowboys. That's how you know it's bad.

This is the exact type of game that bad Bears teams inexplicably win. Gotta win enough games to not get a top 3 draft pick.

I think you guys underestimate how many meatball fans there are. I think meatballs make up the majority of most fan bases. And I think well more than half of Bears fans think Cutler sucks. And I think well over 3/4 of non-Bears fans think he sucks.

I would agree with you on the last point because most fans think everybody that isn't amazing, sucks. Especially guys who make a lot of money.

so i hesitantly searched "jay cutler" on twitter hoping to find out if there was still any faint hope left of him playing tonight, and in response to russell wilson wanting to play after getting his leg mangled today, the "jay cutler isn't tough" narrative is still alive and well

Cutler out, meaning tonight is no win. Either they lose and go 0-3 and definitely are done for the year or Hoyer somehow gets them a win and we get a couple weeks of meatball stupidity

yeah, even if the win is completely on defensive scores and a punt return or something, the meatballs will point to him managing the game or something to victory

Bears defense, still a sieve

Yeah and not even going to use the "5 starters out" excuse

So much for losing but looking professional or whatever you've been saying.

This feels like one of those games where sometime in the third they show a graphic with the Cowboys drive chart and it's full of TDs and FGs with 0-1 punts
