Nah I love this! We will probably win too.

hells yeah, the post clinching JV squad is always a fun one.

What will be fun is when this sort of lineup crushes the Cardinals and kicks them out of the WC race.

My favorite was 2003, mostly because I think it was somewhat unexpected that we would clinch with a day to spare considering it took 2 Cubs win and an Astros loss the day before to set up a meaningless game 162. Dusty did give some of the starters a start but pulled them after 1 PA, leaving this lineup

Goodwin, RF

Womack, 2B

Glanville, CF

O'Leary, LF

Martinez, SS

Karros, 1B

Ojeda, 3B

Paul, C

Mitre, P

wish we could've gotten rich hill or called up murton or something so we could have our random ex cub from years before quota in (or bring dero or TRL out of retirement or something) like glanville

Its gonna be funny when the PA announces the "2016 National League Central Central Champions - Your Chicago Cubs" and then a bunch of misfits who had barely anything to do with it run onto the field.

(Besides Soler and Contreras)

Can someone explain horsefeathers to me? I imagine it has something to do with Fred but I don't typically pay attention to poster's posting patterns (other than Sofa posting disgusting food) to the point I recognize them.

When someone bad happened to the Cubs Fred would say funny things instead of swears, the most common being "Oh horsefeathers !" In tribute to Fred, the swearing filter was changed so that swears were auto replaced to say "horsefeathers"

Somehow Lackey has thrown 3 pitches straight down the middle of the plate, one was called a ball and none of them have been smacked for a home run

I continue to be amazed that he is seemingly the only pitcher that can do this
