That playoff spot should be between Coghlan and Almora. Seal Boy has done nothing whatsoever to earn it.

He has a poor attitude, hasn't hit a lick since coming back up, and plays below average defense at 3rd. What warrants a playoff spot for him over the other two?

La Stella can hit, he doesn't do much else

Coghlan can maybe hit, he doesn't do much else

Almora can not hit, he plays great defense but this is a roster that will have Szczur or Baez available as defensive replacements(or not need them in a Bryant/Fowler/Heyward OF)

La Stella gets the roster spot

Javy has a .572 OPS and an almost 29.8% K rate since July 30. Blah, hope he can make some adjustments before the playoffs.

Probably has to do with playing against more RHPs and not being protected with favorable matchups. May just be the hitter he is vs RHP.

This might be part of it, but when he was at his high point offensively this year, his OPS vs. LHP was slightly over 1.000 for the season. Now its at .834 for the season. His OPS vs. RHP has actually raised slightly from ~.650s (going from memory) to .689.

La Stella can hit, he doesn't do much else

I've been saying that for a couple years now. But the guy took a month off and now hasn't hit for a month since coming back. I'd try and get him more playing time this week to see if he can get it together but I'm not sure he can hit anymore. It's not an attitude thing but taking a month off to hang at the jersey shore hasn't helped and could have had a real negative effect.

So Ryno is in the booth with the Ryder Cup Trophy, to presumably promote the tournament in a few weeks...Len's first question "so tell us about the Ryder Cup?" Ryno: "I don't know much about it other than it's a pretty big tournament and this is a good looking trophy." Okay Edited by Cubswin11

Yeah, but Coghlan doesn't have an excuse for not being able to hit.

Part of me is like 'come on, not another awkward post-loss celebration', but the other part of me realizes how this team will quickly make you forget about the awkwardness of celebrating after a loss.

I think he's had 20 ABs or so which isn't a ton but its the type of frequency he should expect to see ABs in his role (20 AB over 15 games)

i had to look it up because i felt like i was getting emotional about nothing, and i was, because the Brewers are only 6-10 against the Cubs

It just feels like they've been more annoying than they have been
