My nephew is a state champion! York High School IHSA Soccer 3A

While you rejoice, the soccer thread weeps.

Dang. Honestly in my mind that was a pro soccer thread. Do we talk all soccer there. Pro and amateur?

Eta I just checked and I last accessed that thread 20 pages ago. Lol.

I'm officially over Curling. I want them to add a 1v1 version with no brooms, no teams, just pushing the rock and seeing where it ends up. Let's go!

Rocks, stones, whatever. It's a non-serious sport with non-serious rules

So, this is bizarrely fun to watch...

The Savannah Bananas, technically a minor-league quality team (summer league full of college players) playing in the Coastal Plain league, has been workshopping a variation on baseball to speed up the game and make it more fun to watch. After 3 years of practice, scrimmages and tweaks, they've unveiled Banana ball, and are playing real games against opponents this spring.

Banana ball is baseball with 9 extra rules:

1. Every Inning Counts - Each inning is worth a point. If you outscore your opponent in that inning, you get 1 point. Most points at the end of the game wins. If you score 13 runs one inning and the opponent gets 0 you get 1 point. If you score 0 runs one inning and the opponent gets 1, they get 1 point.

2. Two hour time limit. From the first pitch start, there is a running 2 hour clock for the game. If an inning isn't complete at the 2 hour time limit, the inning doesn't count towards the game score. If the game is tied at 2 hours, it goes into showdown.

3. No stepping out - If the batter steps out of the box, it's a strike

4. No bunting - Bunting sucks. If a batter even tries to bunt, they'll be thrown out of the game.

5. Batters can steal first - If a passed ball or wild pitch happens in any point in an at bat, the batter can choose to take off for first. If they're out, they're out. If they're safe, they're safe, At bat over.

6. No walks allowed - If a pitcher throws a fourth ball to a batter, it becomes a sprint. The hitter takes off running while the catcher has to throw the ball around to every defensive player on the field before the ball becomes live. The hitter can advance as many bases as he can while this takes place.

7. 1 on 1 Showdown Tiebreaker - Each team picks one pitcher and one hitter to face off. Defensive team gets the pitcher, catcher, and one fielder that has to be on the infield grass until the ball is put in play. Once in play, the batter has to come around all the bases, while the pitcher and fielder are allowed to chase the ball and throw it to the catcher for a play at the plate. If the pitcher strikes him out, he's out. If the batter walks, he takes second and the hitting team gets another batter. One out each team, most runs after showdown gets the win.

8. No mound visits allowed - No mound visits from the coach, catcher, or any other player. Shout at him from afar if needed.

9. If a fan catches a foul ball, it's an out - True home field advantage, let the fans get in on the action.

If it sounds bizarre, it's even more so to watch, especially on walks, foul balls, and showdowns. Games go amazingly fast, as a typical 9 inning game completes in an average of 99 minutes. Each inning has the potential for a walk off by the home team, since it's like match play inning by inning. Sure, a team can win the first 5 innings and end the game, but so far this spring it hasn't happpened.

If you want to see how a game plays out, they livestreamed a game on March 18 on Youtube here:

Next game in the series takes place tonight.

I’m so confused. ESPN2 is showing old ass John McEnroe playing tennis against virtual versions of his younger self. I feel like I’m on hallucinogens right now.

I'm here for all of your cheating scandal needs!

This is less clear cut than the chess stuff, but something weird is going on here.

I'd never seen an episode of that show, so I completely forgot he was on that.

this whole poker thing is getting crazier by the week:

Garrett Adelstein Report on Likely Cheating on Hustler Casino Live

First, I hope everyone can understand the delay in finalizing this document. Between compiling all this information and getting everything approved by my legal team, everything was bound to take some time. Please forgive me for the overuse of the word “allegedly” and other similar adverbs. Legal team is the boss.

I can again say with great confidence that Robbi was very likely part of a cheating ring of at least three members, including her, RIP, Bryan and potentially others. Although I have strong suspicions of many hands that were cheated and the specific methodology and roles of each member of the cheating ring, my legal team has advised me to leave this information out of this initial report. I may choose to disclose additional information in the future if this story continues to be derailed.

Based on the evidence presented below, what I can say about the methodology is that it is highly likely there were instances when Bryan had access to the hole cards, signaled information about those hole cards to RIP, Robbi, or potentially both, and Robbi likely used this information to cheat in several hands over her 3 sessions playing on HCL. I can also say with great confidence, based in part on the evidence presented below, that Robbi and RIP very likely worked together as a team in the two streams they played together to cheat the rest of the table. The video evidence will show several instances of them using verbal and nonverbal communication to accomplish this goal. Additional camera footage beyond what’s shown in the livestream will likely go a long way in further implicating the two.

Although I was able to secure my $135,000 in losses from the J4 hand, I believe that I have very likely been cheated in several other hands as well. The same is true of several other regulars on the show who too have likely been the victim of illegitimate hands. And we may never be reimbursed for these hands.

I understand that there are messages being shared that imply that Bryan was acting alone, but based on everything I have discovered, that theory isn’t credible for many reasons that many of you are surely putting together.

TLDR Breakdown: When investigators went over all the tape from the night of the possible cheating event, they found that a stream production employee just up and stole 15K from Robbi's stack while she was away from the table. He was fired immediately, but when police informed Robbi, she initially declined to press charges. She has since changed her mind and said she'll file charges...
