eh, i just think that heyward isn't the swing doctor like some of these guys (rizzo, bryant, etc.) and the cubs wrecked him with the adjustments in an attempt to get him to get the ball in the air more. at this point i've convinced myself he's more likely to have his best year at the plate vs. repeat this performance at some point over the next two seasons

 

I'm sure they've fixed guys and we just didn't make a big deal out of it but it seems like the Cubs have 2 players who they tried to refine into better overall hitters with disasterous results.

you mean like bryant, rizzo, russell, and fowler? all of them have made significant adjustments under the tutelage of our big league coaching that really made them take steps forward.

 

hell, even javy is a very different hitter, even though he still has a ways to go.
