Gotta get the bats going in the next few weeks. Awful execution with RISP in recent games too.

this isn't a thing

teamwide offensive momentum isn't a thing

this is baseball and streaks happen from time, both good and bad, for no reason in particular

I don't think there's anything special about hitting with RISP but there is a collective swoon going on. I would also like them to warm up before the playoffs but it may indicate nothing at all because its baseball.

the cubs have a lot of good hitters with good approaches and a good offense. they will go into the playoffs with all of those things. this is what matters (as far as the offense goes).

I think the RISP struggles are worth a concern.

And that is why you are regarded as a reactionary spaz.

What does this even mean? Unless you think the Cubs are allergic to hitting with RISP, or simply forgot how to do it, what are you realistically thinking the problem is?

How can you post on here for years, with the wealth of baseball knowledge and actually think this?

We've still had good at bats and just missed some hangers. Come playoff time we might not or might or whatever because this sport is dumb.

struck me as a little funny that when we see chapman register a pitch at 99 we start to wonder if he's being overused

As long as Fowler and Zobrist get their horsefeathers together I'm ok with the offense. but they've been hitting below my lofty expectations for awhile

Do you have any prior knowledge of Smoltz or Matt V showing any type of racism or just making an assumption?

By the way you might have prior knowledge. I'm sincerely asking.

I'm just going off of 40+ years of watching baseball.

Just seems incredibly irresponsible and unfair to accuse people of being racist without having any evidence.

this is really dumb.

It's the definition of privilege. The fiery white guy is respected by his white peers. The fiery Latino is criticized. It's that simple.

It's not accusing them of being racist. It's pointing out the racism.

Is he alive?

He never came back after one of the board issues, right? Although, I'd say he didn't really want to see everyone so happy with The Boy Genius either.....

On a good note, the bullpen has been lights out the last few weeks. I believe the Cubs lead the majors in relief ERA since the AS break. Very encouraging in that regard. The offense has been a little sluggish recently, but we know what they are capable of once they get it going.

I get meatbally against dumb losses against bad pitching, but there's really nothing to be done about it. We had a similar problem right before and right after the all-star break, and we've turned out pretty well.

After being positively herculean for many months it'll sadden me if both of them end up with OPS under .800 by seasons end :beg:

Nah. I'll stick with accusing the duo of being racist had a Rodriguez been pitching.
