La Stella is a horrible defensive 3B, and it's not just the fact we are spoiled with Javy and Bryant being great there. He just can't play the position.

I'm assuming Maddon would say it's because he expects the second baseman to get more action today than the third baseman. But yeah, dudes with 45 arms should probably not play 3B, especially with two above average ones also in the lineup.

I have no idea how his fielding percentage isn't something like 0.600. It feels like he screws up at least 2 plays every time he plays in the field.

I agree. He's not terrible but he's not looking anything like early in the season or last year. I'm not even watching this game. I figured we were likely to struggle scoring runs without Rizzo and against MadBum.
