I enjoyed the 1 inning of Vin Skully. It's been so long since I have heard him call a game so that was fun while it lasted.

He's horrible, but I'm sticking with him.

I might be the only one here but I still love listening to Scully. Im sure hes lost some heat off the fastball but I find his stories genuinely interesting. I love him talk about the players of yesteryear & he finds new nuggets of info and stories that arent on the newswire.

95% of the people that don't like Scully are younger people that have no attention span. I too find his stories to be compelling because he does his own research and still has a knack for the delivery. Sometimes he has trouble recognizing pitches or will do something like say Rizzo popped up when he meant to say Zobrist, but that is minor in my eyes. His memory is horsefeathering incredible and every time he recalls something from back when a player like Jackie played it blows my mind.

Maybe because I spent much of my childhood in LA and listened to him for years, but he's the best that's ever been in my lifetime and it's not particularly close and I'll never understand the boring label that idiots on Twitter and message boards have tagged him with the last few years.

This is his primary job.

Stories are fine, but long and rambling tales to nowhere are just bad. Scully has a classic voice but in this millennium he's been way past his prime, he would've been better off confined to radio or given a partner.
