8/28 Cubs (Lester) @ Dodgers (Stewart), 3:10 PM, CSN/TBS

Good evening everyone. I'm currently stopped over in Indiana on a cross-country drive so I wanted to get this up before I forgot.

The Cubs and Dodgers play their final regular season game of 2016, but it is very possible they see each other in October. Also, I know he's not all that well-liked around these parts, but this could be the final Cubs game called by Vin Scully. CSN is going to air his play-by-play during the 3rd inning.

On to the pitching matchup...

goes for the Cubs

Some guy named Brock Stewart pitches for the Dodgers. His ERA is above 11. Scary to think what it might be after this game.

Finally...

Holy horsefeathers.

I came to the realization after Saturday's game that all of the games I have watched with my dad this year the Cubs have lost. That's 3 in person and 6 on TV. We have season tickets we will be most definitely using come playoff time. The Cubs really need to start winning some of those games before then.

Well, there's another option. I mean, for the good of the Cubs.

If Heyward goes on a tear the rest of the regular season and playoffs, I won't ever complain about one of your overreactionary Game Thread posts again.

That's what I'm saying; they need to win at least one game we're watching otherwise I must bail.

I was 7-0 and my brother was 6-0 during the regular season last year and we both ended up 0-1 in the playoffs. Maybe you will be the opposite of us.

West coast trips are supposed to be really difficult (I'm not sure if they are statistically different than other road trips but players always talk about how it's the toughest trip of the year) I like how we are guaranteed to leave this one with a still commanding division lead.
