I don't think 3 counts as a "win train" - I think you need at least 5, but what do I know. Early day game followed by day off, followed by west coast night game sucks so many donkey nuts.

His sloppy hubris kinda makes me want them to lose.

It's been 8 days since the Cubs last played, right?

Longer than that. We're not the Cubs until Seal Boy is frolicking and flapping on the bench again.

So Anthony sat on Wednesday...right before a day off. I wonder if Kris will sit today.

this is all the drama we have in store for us the rest of the season.

Which guys will get which days off?

I feel like I should be super unoptimistic about Montgomery starting

Why?

Yeah, I was gonna say, for me I'm a little pessimistic about him starting, but feel like I shouldn't be. That and we are going up against Bud Norris.

The Cubs are just molding Montgomery to be the 4th starter in the postseason.

i'm not sure if it actually is or not, but this is the first game in a while i've noticed we haven't been favored in on 538 sports's win probability thingy...dodgers 53% chance of winning.

Not favored tomorrow too (49/51), and Sunday is 50/50. Of course for tomorrow's game they don't have a Dodgers starter listed, which somehow no starting pitcher is worth only -4, while Hammel is worth -21.

Actually looking down the slate of games, I wonder why teams have different adjustments for no listed starter. Like for instance, the Cubs get -6 points when no starter is listed while someone like the Reds get +13 points.

Because Montgomery's adjustment to team rating is -47.5

Mean of the starting pitcher adjustment to team ratings.

The Cubs as a whole have a team rating is so high, the SP adjustment to team ratings is relatively low, and the mean is in the negatives.

The Reds as a whole have a team rating so low, their SP adjustment to team ratings is relatively high, and the mean is in the positives.

The most important thing to remember is the SP rating is relative to your gem (or pile of dog horsefeathers) of a team.
