Haha, they asked Lester what the key to winning these kind of games are. Lester: "Have Lackey warming up in the pen."

So stupid that a Cub might get hurt this weekend because of Holliday. There is no way we are throwing at them in that situation, so you are going to throw at our guys because one of our pitchers made a bad pitch?

I mean, it's not Clint Hurdle.

Though, I'm not putting it past Hurdle to throw at a Cub the next time the Pirates are in town because they hit Holliday.

This reminds me of when the Cardinals berated a young umpire after a game last year when I think literally zero calls went against them. Brett wrote an article the next day about it.

I don't remember the details, but a few weeks ago Ron Kulpa was behind the plate for a Cardinals game and literally handed them a win. I'm thinking it was against the Brewers. So...

Don't care.

Maybe Yadi (and that other scrub that I didn't realize was playing) should frame better.

While watching the game tonight I literally said out loud a few times on close calls "that it seems like Yadi did a poor job catching that close pitch."

I remember last year the Cardinals started beaning us and then the next day we hit like four of their players and win by several runs. It was the perfect game.

Yeah, they got royally screwed tonight, I didn't mean to imply otherwise. Russell's walk earlier in the game might have been even more egregious than Rizzo's AB.

David, after reading thru this, I'm pretty sure it was Molina that just flat out leaned directly into a pitch last year.

So I'm trying to watch the replay on this game and all I can watch is the MLB PLUS feed, which is what I would argue is the worst sports coverage I have ever seen... and I've been watching the NBC olympic coverage. How can these people even exist? They are talking about specifically everything they could possibly talk about that is NOT the game they are supposed to be covering.

Alright, I need to be up at 4:30, so I'm going to bed. I hope the cool people here enjoy the inevitable awesome comeback win and I hope the rest of you barf up your hearts just before it happens.

Damn right. I hope many hearts were barfed up. Especially Ski's. But ESPECIALLY Ski's.

well, that happened, but i'm thinking of someone who completely faked being in pain from a HBP when replay showed it didn't even touch him

How the horsefeathers did the Cubs possibly have Julio horsefeathering Borbon for 72 games in 2013? My brain refuses to retain that information. What are we talking about?

If anyone gets plunked, we send special assistant Ted Lilly to finish off Molina.

And he can make a mean toilet-wine afterwards to celebrate.

I remember that he was on the Cubs now that you mention it but I would have guessed he was on the team for a week or two at most not half the season
