Why does Hammel have a -16.9 adjustment to team rating while Lackey has a -3.3 --- even though Hammel has been better than Lackey?

 

Same thing goes for the pitcher score. Is innings pitched weighted heavily?

Lackey has significantly better peripherals, which typically means he projects better, despite having had worse "actual" results in terms of earned runs.

if you really need an answer to "who opened the door" then I would start with the clubhouse workers/attendants (who probably have not turned over) and then consider the various fellow Venezualans on the team (Miggy/Willson/Rondon) and then reach further out to guys he played with in his last season in the majors with Miami.
