Good starting pitching. Lock down bullpen. Scratched out some runs against an ace. Drove in runners in scoring position.

Is that enough to satisfy everyone for awhile?

At least until the next time the opponent has more runs than we do.

Is it even possible Ventura tried to cool Chapman by stretching out the inning?

That's up there with 'procrastinating on answering any more questions about Sale', which is a preposterous thing to say but what else could it be?

I mean, if that is your goal, then why not make Chapman bat?

Playing at a 100 win pace since the all-star break.

Yes, that too. I was talking more specifically about just this game, though.

It had all the things that we all complain about all the time.

Only until J-Hey goes 4-3 and every idiot starts talking about how awful he is...

No. I want to know why Baez likes that high, outside pitch so much

Venture knows that his days as a big league manager are numbered, so he wants to do as many managery things while he can.

You mean the one he walked on in the 8th?

I didn't get the game on TV until the 9th. Couldn't help but notice that Hawk sounded the closest to an objective analyst that I'd ever heard him while Chapman was embarrassing his beloved Sox.

I was particularly amused when Russell made that sliding stop, and Hawk was talking about Russell stating that his one shortcoming was a weak throwing arm, to which Stone response was essentially 'what the hell are you talking about,' and Hawk quickly changed the conversation.

I watched the Sox feed the first two games and they were both VERY complimentary towards the Cubs. I was quite surprised.

the funny thing is hawk was actually right on that

I was going to say, inasmuch as Russell has any weakness at all defensively, his arm would definitely be it.
