Doesn't even surprise me these days. Oh, look, our best hit ball of the day is for 2 outs. That figures.

i suppose that would have been two outs (another hard hit ball) anyway

 

and yes, i realize circumstances change things/pitches/approaches/etc.

These last two weeks have been *punishing*. They get a good offensive performance = bullpen blows it. They have a tight game and the starter is at least holding it together = offense has hard hit balls go for double plays. Absolutely no breaks happening.

 

At least the doom spiral is happening in the midpoint of the season.
