second half hammel is getting an early start so he can revert back to first half hammel for the playoffs

Catch-22. If 2nd half Hammel shows up for much longer, he won't be appearing in the playoffs.

Yes, I'm sure he'll be just fine now, thanks so much for the info.

You're a very, very odd person who seems to be trying to not enjoy this as much as possible.

I don't get it. Sports are literally watching people play a silly game. Why the hell let it effect you so much and what's the point in not enjoying things?

How are you enjoying things so far?

Fortunately Hammel wasn't going to be relied upon in the playoffs anyway. At this point, Hendricks is our game 3 starter isn't he? Funny to think about after last year.

Still think they'd go Lackey, but Hendricks is definitely ahead of Hammel.

Yes, I was clearly wrong and completely of base with my expectation of Hammel this evening, please proceed with the name calling while I find something better to do with my time. Please enjoy the rest of the game.

I kept getting pulled away, but what I saw of the first inning it seemed like Hammel was leaving a ton of pitches up in the zone in the 1st.

Not happy about losing but the team did play 115 win pace baseball over 2/3rd of a season from last July up till a couple weeks ago. Im pretty confident the Cubs are closer to that 120 game sample size than this bad 3 week sample size in which there has been a mix of bad luck, injuries, and some regression to the mean.

Now you on the other hand seem to have been bitching about everything, always, no matter when they are doing well. At that point why even watch baseball or even post?

Wasn't Hendricks the game 3 starter last year and Lackey basically made it sure that Hammel wasn't even a 4th in the playoffs?

I do look forward to Hammel being replaced in the rotation by someome younger and more talented.

Hendricks actually started game 2 of the Cards series, so yeah, I guess he was the #3 at the time. I always saw the Lackey signing as intention of being #3 in a playoff series.

He appears to be continuing it into the 2nd.

So NSB is no longer the least terrible faction of Cubs fans. Then again, there are a few other places that are probably dumpster fires.

Eh, my guess is most of them are wishing death to players by now. We've turned meatball, meatballs turn way worse.

Man, so much of the Braves' lineup is such a construct of misfit toys; it looks like something I would have put together in The Show 5 years ago. Don't lose to these humps.

And it was a good job by Hammel to work his way out of the jam, including having to get four outs that inning after the leadoff double.

I don't think I've hated a pitcher on the Cubs more than Hammel. Yes including Jaxon

Hammel is totally infuriating. Ah well.

Even when he does something like get out of the last inning, it was ultimately a completely unnecessary tightrope walk he shouldn't be in in the first place. He's such an odd pitcher.
