Tuned in right at the beginning of the third set and was shocked to see that not only was Djokovic down 2-0 but that he’d won only 3 total games. However I’ve seen him (and Nadal when he still played) be down 2-0 and come back and win too often so I bet on Novak at +350. He then won the third set in a tiebreaker so I assume he’s going to win the match now.

I think I saw the stat correctly when they showed he’d won 20 of his previous 22 tiebreakers in majors before today, which is insane.

Tiafoe started strong, broke Alcaraz in the first set, looks like Alcaraz is back on his game though, easily taking the second set 6-2.  Now, Tiafoe is up a break in the third, if he holds and takes the third set, this could get interesting.

On the men' side at Wimbeldon, two Americans in the quarter-finals, best result for Americans men in quite some time.  There's a chance one - Fritz - could make it to the semi-finals.

I'm convinced a decent part of Djokovic's success and drive to win more titles than Federer and Nadal is out of pure spite at tennis fans who, for the most part, have never and will never like him anywhere close to as much as they like the other two players. Probably the GOAT, but a very unlikable person.

I think a lot of it has to do with his inability to ever lose graciously,  always dragging out matches with injury timeouts and wasting time when things weren't going his way. Especially earlier in his career before he was winning 90% of the time, he had a penchant for quitting matches he was losing instead of finishing them out.

yeah, he's just a douchebag. the polar opposite of federer and nadal: little to no personality and a whiny bitch. and this doesn't even take into consideration his anti-vax stance.

I agree with the above regarding Djokovic, won't hear from him today, his QF opponent is injured and couldn't compete.  Meanwhile, looks as Fritz' SF bid is fading, he's down 4-0 in the fifth set.

Coco and Rybakina both out in Cincinnati today. Sabalenka and Swiatek, neither one, are playing their best. The men will be the usual suspects, but the women are shaping up for a wide open US Open. I'm seriously considering hitting the Andreeva (+2600) and Paolini (+3000) futures lines.

No sooner than I said it, Sabalenka seems to have found her game again. Very convincing wins over Swiatek and Pegula in Cincy. She's looking good coming into the US Open. I would still sprinkle some action on Mirra Andreeva. Just a gut feeling. I wouldn't be surprised if she makes it to the final.

I'd give a shot despite being done in the round of 16 at Cincinnati, she played really well reaching the Finals of the French Open and Wimbledon along with a doubles gold at the Olympics.

I have been a fan of hers for a long time, even before she was getting into main draws, so it's been really neat to see her have so much success this year. One of the hardest working women on tour.

I don't imagine too many people are on Andreeva or Paolini.

Happy to see Coco get through her opening round for her title defense. She's been riding the struggle bus lately.

Major upset alert happening right now. Alcaraz is down 2 sets to love against van de Zandschulp.

Best match of Popyrin's career! He played some brave tennis tonight. Never backed down even when Djokovic started to turn up the heat.

This could be a wild couple days depending on how these night matches go. Alcaraz yesterday, Djokovic today. Sabalenka drops the first set as does Zverev (he's up 5-4 on serve in the second).

Coco also has a tough one next against Navarro.

As much as I would love to see it, especially Pegula given all that she's been through with her mom's health, it seems like a foregone conclusion that we're getting another Swiatek/Sabalenka final.
