The Cubs begin a 10 game road trip in Milwaukee against a guy with an ERA north of 6. It's very appropriate that my first GDT of the season takes place in a park with a roof, preventing me from predicting a rainout.

As always, off days sucks.

Go Cubs!

This is kinda a weird road trip, Milwaukee to San Francisco then to St. Louis. Either way, I'll be in attendance Wednesday night for this game. Let's sweep.

Thanks! Still hoping it'll happen on it's own today or tomorrow but I'm thinking it'll be Wednesday when they induce her. So she'll be stuck with Lackey, but being born into first place isn't too bad!

Even if that happens, I would just say "it's all part of the plan"?

(congrats, too! Henry was born last year after the 6/18 game so the 6/19 Hendricks start was his first(Cubs lost). but they were 8 games back at the time and we know how the rest of the year went...)

It will be excellent to play a baseball game in non-dong-suppressing conditions (I assume the roof will be closed).

Hahah i can't believe how bad the Brewers numbers against Hendricks are, a .314 OPS in like 70 at bats.

I expect he'll continue to baffle them (because they're bad, and he's good)

EDIT: Huh, looking at their stats they're actually a pretty good hitting team. Their pitching is a huge dumpster fire. Anyway, they should give us Jonathon Lucroy and should go back to the hole from whence they emerged.

My nephew was born Saturday during Arrieta's start. I'm sure this means awesome things

I was apparently born on a day where Maddux won and Lee Smith got the save. I'll assume this means awesome things.

No Chicago sports teams played on my birthday, but the Bulls lost the day before and after my birthday and the Hawks lost the day after as well. Yay?

I was born 3 days after the Bill Buckner error in the World Series. Closest I've got to anything interesting.

this conversation is as relevant as astrology

i dont think anyone is drawing meaning to the sports events that happened on their birthday. It's just off day conversation.

The day I was born, some dude named Steve Renko started and the Cubs lost 6-4 to the Big Red Machine, to move 14 1/2 games back in mid June.
