I was cruising through some stats (while watching the game!) and just noticed that Strop has a 92.9% ground ball rate so far this year.

imagine if hammel's extra leg work in the offseason actually manifests itself in him being really horsefeathering good now

You must be one of those nerds that just watches the play by play online, because we aren't watching the same games apparently.

lol you're a [expletive] moron

I'd love for your dumbass to explain to me what's so great about Montero. Is it the passed balls? Or the .650 OPS? Good try

Yeah, dumbass. Explain it to freyr

I'm really hoping for that too, on top of hopefully keeping him a little fresher by letting Warren get a few spot starts to give him extra rest.

Perhaps if you wait more than 23 posts, you'd know more about people here.

I stumbled upon this board when we signed Soriano back in '06 and have been reading ever since. He's one of the typical smart ass trolls on here.

tim, plz ban

we should probably bench heyward and call up almora too

You really are a dumbass if you think the two of their starts/stats are anywhere comparable. Heywards defense is A+ compared to Montero's average play behind the plate. Heyward also gets on base a couple times a game and provides value on the basepaths. Let me know when you're done sucking off Miguel, David. :barf:

He's been absolutely dominant

nah, bans are dumb. as long as he isn't starting 30 inane threads a day and dropping homophobic rants.

Rondon's FIP is still negative.

But he's only had 4IP so far!

montero, just as of this morning, had a higher obp this season than heyward

he's also one of the best framers in the game, unless you dismiss that and totally buy into other defensive numbers (like heyward's)

Dude, relax; Montero is just off to a slow start with the bat this year. Both Fangraphs and BR had him as about a 2 WAR player last year, so it's not like he's following up a crappy season. They can easily afford to wait for him to start hitting given how good the rest of the offense is, plus the defense he brings to the table.

to add to that, it's 2 wins in 113 games (without any accounting for his extremely good framing contribution)

Heyward's up to a .365 OBP, and already has 4 defensive runs saved in RF.

And why in the world would the Reds sent a short reliever out for a second inning and 40+ pitches when you're trying to improve his confidence
