Joey Votto getting walked 200+ times will be fun though.

It will be more fun when he gets traded for an underwhelming haul of prospects after this.

The only way they'll be able to move him is if they eat a good chunk of that contract or take a mediocre return, so you may be right.

Statements Votto has made seem to indicate that he actually thinks the Reds will be competitive in 2016, so that should be fun.

Tommy Pham left the game with an injury

I hope he's ok. I want the Cardinals to be ridiculously healthy this year so that their fans have to acknowledge their badness.

Ugh, no. I am a firm believer in this when it comes to the Cardinals:

They're due.

don't get me wrong. I want them to be awful. I want every player on the team to under perform. I just don't want their fanbase to have any excuses for the awfulness.

Speaking of teams I'd like to join the Cards in hell, the Mets are losing and Harvey couldn't finish six.

funny you mention it. i agree. and i just saw a thread on that mets forum of terrible people complaining about a woman being in the booth. to be fair, most told the poster he was an idiot, but yeah.

I don't really have an opinion on her, she's not bad or good imo. Which in terms of broadcasters probably makes her good if she's not bad, if that makes any sense, but she's def better than Kruk, Schilling, Morgan and the rest of the trash ESPN has had. The only thing I didn''t like is last year during games she seemed to talk in cliches a lot or use jargon to "seem like one of the guys" even though it felt more like she was forcing it out than meaning any of it and it didn't seem like it was coming out organically.

She's also calling national games, which requires a slightly different angle than say, JD, because of the audience.

I think she's pretty easily better than any national color person save for maybe Glanville. She does have the advantage of being in a 3 person booth so she can be a little more selective and not feel obligated to talk so much(2 person booths shouldn't have this compulsion either, but baby steps), but she says smart things and several times a game adds something that even educated viewers might not have spotted, which puts her at the front of the pack.

Bah, they're gonna come up with excuses no matter what. And no matter how many thousands of excuses they come up with, I could care less so long as the Cubs win.

I like Jess Mendoza, and the misogynistic Cubs fans can horsefeathers-off just like similar fans of other teams. I want to like Glanville, but I find him boring AF.
