Is there not a Lester thread?

 

What are the numbers saying about the hot start? Is it like last year where the results are way out of line with the data, or are is this a more legitimate good start than last year?

 

Last year Lester was really interesting. If you break his season into fourths, it almost perfectly breaks out like this:

 

Part 1: Bad and Lucky

Part 2: Kinda good and Lucky

Part 3: Very Bad and Unlucky

Part 4: Very good and slightly lucky

 

During part 4, there were some encouraging signs because IIRC he basically started throwing a lot more soft stuff and found success. I was worried about him coming into this year though, but it looks like he's found the formula for pitching at 88-91.

The way that there's been absolutely zilch about this in the Chicago press - not really even speculation - makes me think that this is something that connected people know about but aren't talking about, out of deference to Zobrist.

 

I really hope it's not something horrible, but I'm kind of afraid it is.

Im divorced. I didnt want to be. Im good now but man, theres nothing worse than believing you found the person you will spend the rest of your life with, having kids with that person, and then finding out later that their feelings have changed and theres nothing you can do to change their mind. To go through all of that on top of knowing that friends and family probably suspect you must've done something wrong because they dont have the whole story - and they dont need to know the whole story, because it really isnt a story...its tough. Ive never really cared for Ben all that much off of the field before, but (without knowing any of the details) I can relate to what he's going through. To be away from the team and game he so obviously loves must mean what he's going through is brutal on him. I hope he's doing ok and makes it through.

I have no idea, I assume it's only possible because they have homes in multiple states, which naturally excludes the huge majority of marriages.
