Hey guys, you seem to be enjoying the Cubs winning run a little too much so here's Addison

Also Zobrist was scratched late yesterday for "personal reasons". He was also late to ST for "personal reasons", right before Harper signed with the Phillies. It could just be an actual personal reason or IL-stint, but a trade of WS hero and seemingly (hopefully) good-guy Ben Zobrist to make room for domestic abuser Addison Russell would be some kind of juxtaposition.

Gross. Just bring up Happ instead.

Right, or if they feel they want a SS get Adames up here. He’s not on the 40-man but if you gotta DFA Tom Collins Mix or Randy to clear a spot, who horsefeathering cares.

It just feels really grotesque for them to do this now (I mean, it would at any point), because you can't help but think they're doing it just because the team is doing so well and the vibe is generally so positive. They're hoping all of the good stuff will allow this to be swept aside quicker, because he sure as horsefeathers isn't showing with his play that he needs to be brought back ASAP (not that him playing well would justify him still being on the team).

Yeah agree. And conversely just when we really are rolling, seemingly have a good and focused clubhouse going and things seem to be going great now the rest of the guys on the team are going to have to deal with the media circus around this and a changing atmosphere/attitudes in the clubhouse. Bang up job, horsefeathering idiots.

i'm not someone who really likes to boo players, but damn, would it be a nice and welcomed surprise if this dweeb gets a completely negative reaction before his first plate appearance.

Kaplan is the only guy to have this so far, none of the beat guys or official accounts have mentioned it. So hopefully that doofus is wrong.

Bold prediction: I say the reaction is for sure not one of a standing O, that it's mixed and that we hear some quality boos.

Naive?

You had a dude comfortable enough to make a racist gesture on TV there last night and loads of people making excuses for that guy today. We've seen the same excuses for Russell all along. People will give him a standing O just to stick it to any booers, and then there will be those who do it out of genuine admiration for him. He's getting an ovation. Not across the board, but it will be noticeable.

I know twitter is not real life, but there seems to be far more negative reaction than positive.
