Also Zobrist was scratched late yesterday for "personal reasons". He was also late to ST for "personal reasons", right before Harper signed with the Phillies. It could just be an actual personal reason or IL-stint, but a trade of WS hero and seemingly (hopefully) good-guy Ben Zobrist to make room for domestic abuser Addison Russell would be some kind of juxtaposition.

It just feels really grotesque for them to do this now (I mean, it would at any point), because you can't help but think they're doing it just because the team is doing so well and the vibe is generally so positive. They're hoping all of the good stuff will allow this to be swept aside quicker, because he sure as horsefeathers isn't showing with his play that he needs to be brought back ASAP (not that him playing well would justify him still being on the team).

Yeah agree. And conversely just when we really are rolling, seemingly have a good and focused clubhouse going and things seem to be going great now the rest of the guys on the team are going to have to deal with the media circus around this and a changing atmosphere/attitudes in the clubhouse.
