Per Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post Dispatch, it appears unlikely that the Cardinals will be forced to forfeit draft picks for the upcoming First Year Player Draft in June of 2016. According to sources near the commissioner, Major League Baseball plans to wait until after the sentencing of Chris Correa, a process that has been postponed multiple times, before it exacts any punishment against the team.

Lock this up. Teams 10 games back don't deserve their own thread. Maybe a combined also-ran thread with Reds and Brewers.

I get your point, but I don't think there's any shame in reveling in the Cardinals misery this year. We've all dealt with the Cardinals success and the BFIB for long enough, I think it's ok to collectively enjoy this.

Along with the Cubs success, obviously.

Ever since I started coming to this forum I'll admit that my opinion of several opposing players has been pretty much shaped by you guys. But Kolten Wong was a guy I know I hated all on my own. Screw that guy.

I understand disliking Cardinal players, but I never had any specific dislike toward Wong. Still not sure why he attracts such high levels of disdain from some folks.

My strongest hate for this batch of Cards is reserved for Wainwright. He's just a sanctimonious POS.

Yeah, I don't really get that one either.

Other than Molina and the occasional annoying comment from Wainwright, I don't think I hate anyone on that team more than anyone else.

Not even fully his fault, but he got me when he did a few batflips and then one of the meatballier St. Louis columnists wrote a "Wong batflip a thing of beauty" article when you know damn well the same guy would be calling for retaliation if it was Baez or someone. So I guess basically horsefeathers that columnist, but horsefeathers Wong too by association.

Rats. Somehow blocked out Molina.

Yeah, hate that guy the most.

I dislike many Cardinals players, but for me, it's the douche bag managers they always seem to employ (TLR, and now M. Matheny). I don't know why, but they seem very disingenuous in interviews to me. I hate how M. Matheny interpreted that quote by Heyward about the core players of the Cardinals getting up there in age, which is true and a pretty accurate statement. He took offense to that somehow... Oh, really? STFU Matheny

Also, I remember this very vividly when M. Matheny was just staring at the field for a long while like a dumbass after the Cubs just got finished beating the Cardinals at Wrigley in Game 4 of the NLDS. It's like he was thinking, "How the $%^& did we lose to the Cubs?"

Like he couldn't believe it or process it, even though the Cubs were rolling and were clearly a more talented (and healthy) team by that point...

Number to look out for: 15.5

That's the most number of games the Cubs have been ahead of the Cardinals in the standings, at least in the central division era. At 11 now

I hate Wong because he isn't good at baseball yet somehow thought he was some kinda dongsmith and went through that ridiculous hot streak against LHP in October of 13 or 14. Also the dancing.

But I will say it is much more enjoyable watching Yadier suck and have official scorers bail him out by calling passed balls wild pitches. When he doesn't get into the HoF BFIB Twitter might explode.

Heard some guy on STL sports radio today - I think Miklasz - say Molina was a sure HOF pick... I about did a spit take

You'll be very hard pressed to find a Cards fan who thinks otherwise.

Because he's a Cardinal and he didn't suck for a couple of years, ah-doy. Sure, now that he's terrible he's kind of sympathetic, but finding him very unappealing before was just common sense.

On the flipside, there will be a HUGE "he was a big part of their world series runs/glue guy/heart and soul of the team" narrative that i could see getting him in

Well horsefeathers, let's just induct Angel Pagan then.
