Good combo of outsider with immense credibility and respect combined with an understanding of MLS/the American player/system. I’ll take it. Not super exciting, but I’d take it with optimism.

How on earth is this a penalty? I mean, after the game one of the guys on NBC said the call wasn't a clear and obvious error by the ref because the Spurs player "glanced the shin" of the Southampton player. So we're giving penalties for a graze on the shin now? Are we going to start calling 15 penalties a game then? If originally the ref had ruled that there was no foul on the play, there's not a chance in hell that VAR would have done anything.

Get rid of the stupid fucking "clear and obvious error" bullshit when determining whether or not it should be overturned. Just look at it and determine if it was a penalty regardless of what the original call was. That would have been a ridiculous foul to call if it was at midfield.

I still think on the whole VAR is good but it needs some changes because we can't be giving out penalties for stuff like this.

i am not a fan of giving a pen to a guy who is running away from goal and jumping wildly at the edge of the 18, facing his own goal'

however, i am a fan of spurs getting screwed over

So I've not really gotten very excited about Balogun because I didn't see much that was pointing to him picking the US, but dropping out of England U21 camp and then beelining to meet with the USMNT has my attention.

As an aside, finally a useful outcome of the insane energy some people have towards the national team, playing geoguessr on his social media pics.

I didn’t believe until his post, but I did a 180 because he has said that the Nigerian FA had never contacted him. So knowing he’d been in our system before, was basically tapping out in England, and is best buds with Musah, I figured I could let myself hope. Is he already our best pure striker ever? If you count deuce it’s a no, but as a pure 9, his current season is better than any other American abroad.

Sounds like he is definitely considering. The Harry Kane math can't be too hard.

Sometimes it’s fun to watch the US play a team they are vastly superior to in a competitive match

I cleaned the kitchen and mopped the floors. Very productive!

And now every Grenedan defender has a great Christian Pulisic story to tell when they’re watching the PL with their friends.

"See that guy on the bench? Yeah, played against him."

The US is dominating the parts of this game that I’ve seen but it’s still 0-0. Better not do something stupid and lose this to get eliminated from the Nations League

It was only a friendly, but Belgium just beat Germany 2-3 in Cologne 😎, with a young side to boot.

Completely outplayed the Mannschaft in the first half and held on for the first away win against them since 1910.

Mexico was so uninspiring in their Nations League group(two draws to Jamaica and only +5 in two matches against Suriname) that they're the worst of the group winners, which means that they're the USMNT's semifinal opponent in June.  The other semi will be Canada vs. Panama, unless Costa Rica get 2 goals in the next 10 mins in their match v. Panama.

I imagine after 69 years no one cares that it was a friendly! Highly entertaining game!
