England really is the Charlie Brown of soccer.  They rarely just lose in major tournaments, they find the most painful ways to go out.

Feel good about Spain over Argentina on Sunday, or at least as good as you can feel in a one game situation. If Spain gets the lead they’re not going to just sit back, bunker and let Argentina pepper their goal. They didn’t against France and that’s not how they play. So if Argentina is losing late, it’s going to be harder for them to score than it has been.

Of course, they’re basically the “he can’t keep getting away with this” meme in real life.

I would equate it more to being like a football team that can control the ball for 40 minutes with a devastating ground game and they just keep your offense on the sideline the whole game. That’s not to say their defenders stink though.

I suppose this is as good a place as any, but apparently Illinois is going to pay 425 million dollars for infrastructure related to the Chicago Fire's new stadium. How in the hell is that justified given the level of income they generate?

Now let the Trump curse get Milei and Argentina. 🙏🏾

Trump announced he would attend the WC Final. Its now in danger of being smoked out.

The Trump jinx is real. The Lord works in mysterious ways.

The USA love producing a 3rd/4th place match thumping. Sweden led Bulgaria 4-0 at halftime in 1994.

I wish I could find the English dude I was talking to in a bar at O’Hare, who jokingly (?) told me England has a 60-40 chance of winning when they went up 4-0 😂

It's a site the city really wants to see developed. They'd probably spend that TIF infrastructure alongside any anchor tenant that would help realize that site. Although MLS isn't much better than NFL in terms of drawing a consistent consumer base.

About half the cost is for a publicly owned parking garage podium. Reportedly that's a 4-5M annual revenue driver for city. Which is admittedly a long payoff period, by sounds like it will offer additional public benefit and possibly additional revenue streams (engineered to support additional development on top of garage). If it realizes it's potential, it's a potential big addition to that development and the city.

Argentina with 0 shots through 90 minutes is shocking. I figured Spain would dominate the ball but not like this.

Extra time will be boring unless Spain scores. Argentina will bunker, waste time and try to provoke Spain into getting a red.

Hopefully Spain gets one because they deserve it.
