I thought the Ricketts family was too debt ridden and dealing with biblical losses to spend $20m on FA

Sports teams are such a terrible investment that its time to buy another one

He didn't make the 18 yesterday, so he's got 2 weeks to at least get on the field, since I imagine he's not gonna get called in if he hasn't hit that milestone.

Not as immediately USMNT-relevant, but Allegri said McKennie is done for the season.

I’m trying to put into scope how shocking it would be for Everton to go down. They’re in a group of like 10 teams where it seemed nearly impossible to get relegated but they also clearly aren’t in the top tier of teams and haven’t been for awhile.

Less shocking than Leicester winning the championship, more surprising than George Mason making the Final Four?

According to the surely very scientific myfootballfacts.com, Everton has the most years in the top flight of any English club, with 119. Villa are 2nd with 108, Liverpool has 107, Arsenal 105, etc. Everton hasn't been in the 2nd division since 1953-54.

Do it. Would just give me one more reason to hate both the Ricketts and Chelsea.

idk seems mutually exclusive, if they were to (likely) slash wages and Chelsea drops out of top 4 then you have to begrudgingly appreciate the subterfuge

Two good CCL home legs for Seattle (3-0) and NYC (3-1). Both have to advance after those showings, which would guarantee one of them in the finals this year.

Today New England beat UNAM 3-0, which means that's 3 MLS teams with 3 goals each in the first legs of their quarterfinals. I can't wait to see how they blow this.

The last QF is between Montreal and Cruz Azul, first leg in Mexico.

BBC Sports are tracking the implications for Chelsea: https://www.bbc.com/sport/live/football/60688168

Holy horsefeathers !

They can't trade players, have fans except for season ticket holders, or sell merch. Really seriously frozen, like in ice.

so the uk government has in one fell swoop briefly turned chelsea into spurs but with good players
