Knowing the limitations of the pool that roster makes sense to me. Feels a little unlucky for someone like Cole Bassett, but I don't see a midfielder I'd for sure drop for him.

On a related note, because I am a masochist I occasionally read the replies on USMNT news, and boy that will take away your desire to see soccer's popularity to grow in the US really quick.

The complete shamelessness in time wasting is an embarrassment, especially from a team of italy’s talent. Ruins any appreciation of an otherwise deserved result.

I thought the same thing.

I agree (disappointed, but I have to admit the better team won)

we'll see what happens but that felt like it should have been the final. you just knew morata would miss. The jeering at home sucks but so does he.

I don’t know how England will choke, but I can’t wait to see it happen. I hope it’s in the final and because of some classic Italian dark arts.

Fulhamerica!

I’m rooting for England today but Denmark would be a great story. Regardless, I’m rooting for the winner today to beat Italy because screw Italy.

And Denmark has the lead. Hosting the semis at Wembley with your first Euro final berth on the line against a great but slightly inferior opponent, losing would be such an England thing to do.

Unbelievable swing. Iffy penalty followed by your predictable England choke on the PK followed by the absolute perfect rebound chance

They beat Germany In a tournament. They had a penalty break lucky THEIR way. So many un-England things have happened that I think it may be coming home (lads)

Pretty much just have to win a penalty kick shootout, right?

That's disgusting. Forfeiture should be on the table as that potentially changed the outcome of the game as if England needed help beyond the refereeing.

Making a team forfeit because some dumb fan shined a light in the GKers eye seems just a bit excessive.

Didn’t a team have to forfeit game(s) because their fans would t stop doing homophobic chants? (Not in this tournament, obviously)

No, abandoning the game to be finished the next day was on the table as a last resort in that situation, but no game has come particularly close to that point.

you can't let fans alter the outcome of games. Doubt they would ever do it but that horsefeathers can't be allowed to happen.

Of course it shouldn’t happen. I don’t think anyone is okay with it happening. I’m just saying making the team forfeit a game for something one fan did is excessive.

Hopefully they can figure out who the fan was that did it and ban him.

is it? That play decided the game.

Out of curiosity, do you think he would have had a better shot of deflecting the ball at a more advantageous angle or maybe even grab the shot had the laser pointer not affected him? I'm seriously asking because he obviously made the save, but it may have been the case of him guessing right but not seeing the ball well enough to prevent the rebound right back to Kane.

hard to say. and I do see soccer10k's point. It's just so unfair to denmark.
