That De Bruyne shot was just perfect. If he starts it in a bit more, it hits Marcelo’s leg. A bit outside and it’s off the post or wide. If he hits it with any swerve, it either goes wide or curls back and the goalie saves it. I know he had time to line that thing up but there was one way he could hit that and score and he did.

the thing is, marcelo really isn't a defender . . . glad to see Belgium push De Bruyne forward. They have to be the favorites now.

I don't quite understand how England's second goal isn't offside. Young is clearly off, the ball is played towards him, and while he doesn't try to play it the defense has to account for him since the ball ends up like 3 yards behind him.

I proud to say I called the final four in my office pool. By pool, I mean me and one other guy. Picked a Belgium-England rematch in the final.

I'm sure england won't regret missing all these great chances for a 2nd goal. Nope not at all.

 

 

Missed the first half but the second was all croatia . . . and almost no whistles.

Watching Mandzukic score after Pickford screamed at him while he was hurt on the ground, and then watching multiple English players get baited into wasting time with squabbles because they couldn't help but go on tilt was so delightful.

The first half was similar as far as the whistles go. Lovren deserved at least one yellow card and maybe two and didn’t get any.
