So Sonny Gray also has some unsavory Tweets coming back to bite him.

Maybe. Maybe not. There is a dangerous precedent being set where people are jumping to conclusions without the full context. While some of these people may be genuinely bad guys, I don't think it is fair or productive to keep digging through everyone's past for any sign of a potentially offensive remark.

There's nothing dangerous about that precedent

Yeah, I'm struggling to see what merits such an alarmist tone. We all have garbage we've put out there online, and nobody forced us to do so. If you get called out for it, it's not hard at all to own up to it and apologize.

And if you're on the Brewers, you'll get a standing ovation for it.

It's really nice of you to look at it from the perspective of those unfairly maligned baseball players.

While worrying about dangerous precedent, you might want consider what it's like for someone who is gay or a racial minority to see these slurs.

Rougned Odor has a career 4.6% walk rate. This year, he’s at 7.1% (before today). Two years ago, he walked 19 times in 632 plate appearances.

Today, he had 6 plate appearances and walked in 5 of them. None of them were intentional. In his other PA, he homered.

He’s apparently the 4th player ever with 5 BB and 1 HR in a game, along with Aaron, McGwire and Edgar Martinez.

Dexter fractured his left foot tonight.

So I just saw that. Geez, this year just sucks for him. Probably done for the season.

I hope he gets traded somewhere nice where he doesn't have to hear about his "lack of hustle" and all this other nonsensical crap.

I would guess his bones are about the only part of him that Cardinals fans like.

I went to a AAA game yesterday (Columbus Clippers vs. Louisville Bats) and it always surprises me how steep a drop off of quality it is down just one level from the majors. It was ugly baseball at best, with maybe 3 or 4 players (combined) who looked major league worthy/ready. The Clippers won 9-8 despite committing 4 errors. The pitcher the Bats trotted out topped out at 88mph, had a 1.50 WHIP, and only 4.5 K/9. The Clippers brought in a reliever (making his AAA debut) who threw 97mph, but had no idea where it was going. He left with a 54.00 ERA.

But hey, I saw the Louisville debut of Tim Federowicz, so that was a thing

I bet how you feel about AAA baseball is how a dog trainer would feel if they ever watched you train your dog(s).

Saw the other day that the Red Sox are the 5th team in the expansion ERA to win 79 of their first 113 games. Through today they're on pace for 114 wins. The most wins through 113 games was the 98 Yankees with 84. They were in the midst of a 9 game winning streak and ended up peaking at 89-29, which is a pace of 122 wins. For comparison's sake, last years Dodgers were *only* 84-34 at the same point and the Red Sox would have to win their next three to match that. The 01 Mariners were 85-33.

I obviously knew the Yankees were really good that year since they won 114 but didn't realize how far ahead of the 116-win pace they were 3/4 into the season. I like most here, might have been paying more attention to something else going on in the NL that year.

When is it? This weekend?

I'm trying to figure out how the Padres and Pirates got the exact same jersey

(as I typed that I got a bit paranoid, please note I'm mildly colorblind so If the aren't actually the exact same colors I blame that)

They look the same to me. Cubs, Dodgers, Royals and Jays all look the same colors to me too.

They all have the exact same jersey. Mariners have the same sleeves.
