Looks like Wrigley will have to wait another few years to get another ASG. The only NL team with a longer drought just got it

The whole Mickey Callaway is a genius baseball man and the reason the Mets are good again narrative is annoying. Not saying he isn’t better than Collins and a good manager (I think he is), but it’s mostly just luck he took over at the right time during their injury sequencing timeline that almost everyone is healthy at the same time more than anything. This is basically the same team they’ve had since 2014-15.

Mickey Callaway is a 40 year old man and not a player from the 20’s?

Other acceptable answers: Munchkin from the Wizard of Oz, Depression era gangster from Chicago.

So I was bored tonight because horsefeathering weather so I was thinking about baseball a lot and how much my life has changed now that Theo decided to become a part of it. Naturally, Javy had a lot to do with it, which lead to the other guys like KB and Schwarber, etc. and how impressive it was that an organization was able to have a MLB roster with 5 guys from consecutive drafts (Javy 11-Happ '15). Are there many other notable groups out there?

I was impressed by the Royals' string of bros:

Billy Butler '04

Alex Gordon '05

Luke Hochevar '06

Mike Moustakas '07

Eric Hosmer '08

Aaron Crow '09

Not only did they all play together in 2012, but over their time there 5/6 made the All Star team. Pretty good. Anyway, horsefeathers this weather and making me have to "watch" basketball.

I remember being envious of the O's farm system in the late 2000's. Of course, their stellar pitching prospects never really panned out because their player development is hot garbage, but at the time I thought their farm system was going to put them in the hunt for the World Series year in and year out when they all made it up together.

i can't recall seeing a larger strike zone in a baseball game:

some of these pitches are a good 6-12 inches off the plate!
