What is the best conference in college basketball this year?

Big 12 by a pretty decent margin according to Pomeroy. Hard to disagree with him.

The Aggies, who left the Big 12 for the SEC in the summer of 2012, finished 4-0 against the Big 12 this season. They defeated old conference foes Texas, Kansas State, Baylor and now Iowa State.

Pomeroy has A&M #1 in the SEC, but the SEC in 6th place in conference rankings.

:hello:

Your conference did just drop 7 games against the Big 12 on Saturday, while picking up only 2 other wins.

Edit: Big 12 teams are 12-7 against SEC teams this season.

Never said anything about the SEC being a great basketball conference. Texas A&M is 4-0 against Big 12 teams. That was my only point. :good:

I know he's a senior and 22ish years old coming into the draft but I'm really surprised House is only a projected 2nd rd pick. He's legit.

He's struggled with his shot for most of this season but it looks to finally be coming around the last couple games. I think he was pressing too much earlier in the season. What encouraged me was that he has stepped up the rest of his game while the shot wasn't falling. I think he could be a very nice player at the next level. Jalen Jones needs to find some handles if he wants to join him there.

So.....just turned on the IU / Michigan game about 15 minutes ago. Have yet to see Michigan score. 25-0 run to end the half. We're down 11.

ESPN didn't switch over to it til it was 10-2 so i didn't even get to enjoy the one brief good run we had

Hammons is the one I find most surprising. Yes hes a senior. However, he's an athletic 7-footer who is averaging 14-8 and 2.5 blocks per game. Seems to have matured and from the games I've seen he's the guy the game revolves around at both ends. When Purdue has the ball the defense rotates to try to deny the entry pass. When Purdue is on defense the other team tries to rotate the ball so that he is forced to step out on a pick and roll.

Looks like a guy who can be a strong defensive center in a backup, 15-20 minute role right away with the potential to develop into starting quality. Definitely not a top 20 pick but seems to be worthy of the 25-30 pick range.

One thing is that he's old even for a senior. He'll be 24 in August.

edit: I agree with your assessment though. He should have a nice NBA career coming off the bench mostly.

I really hope Iowa doesn't do something dumb and lose to Illinois. Iowa vs Indiana next Thursday could be a bit of fun.

Barring your team reading the schedule wrong and not showing up, I can't see how this would remotely worry you.

Probably but Iowa basketball feels like the Cubs to me since they haven't won the Big Ten in so long and last time they had a chance they lost to bad teams on the road and finished 2nd. On the other hand Fran is no Alford.
