[expletive]. I really hate how in-season trading isn't a thing in the NFL.

Well it is...just not after Nov 3rd.

It is, but it isn't. Not many trades happen and hardly anyone even knows when the trade deadline takes place. Forte wasn't hurt at the time of the deadline, but not sure how hard the Bears were trying to move him or if anyone really had any desire to make an offer. As ugly as some team's running games are, you would think someone would have been interested in a guy like Forte. I guess the asking prices just aren't worth playoff consideration, or added strength for the playoffs.

I'm pretty sure Forte got hurt the Sunday before the deadline. He was in some rumors, and then the injury happened and there was just no chance after that.

I think you're right. I was only thinking about the games he missed, and completely ignored the one where he was actually injured. Even still, there just aren't many big name guys moved at the deadline and plenty of teams are clearly out of the playoff picture before the trade deadline.

Anyone have knowledge of Osweiler? I just read something to the effect that Kubiak probably prefers him over Manning at this point.

typical lurchy backup. good arm, but statuesque with happy feet.

Kubiak will give him one read and a running back outlet. the bears will have a lot of pass defenses

When Manning was struggling earlier and the talking heads were discussing, they kept saying Osweiler is better than your average backup QB and is being groomed as Manning's heir apparent, but I didn't see anything on Sunday that impressed me all that much.

Osweiler is a free agent. If he does well, they probably won't be able to keep him because they have several free agents including, Von Miller. If he does poorly, they won't want him back.

He's actually a guy I want the Bears to take a look at for backup this offseason. Only 24 years old. Same guys that worked with him for 3 years.

Like when he announced the starter?

No, like before then. Like, couldn't do anything because of the Manning legend.

Or so the article implied.

That's a good summary. I watched him the second half on Sunday -- he definitely made some good throws, though the Chiefs DBs were playing back. Went the pocket collapsed he got to tap-dancing quickly.

three games, Fuller has allowed just 6 receptions on 18 pass attempts and has not given up a touchdown. His 33.3 catch percentage against is fifth best in the league at the cornerback position, per PFF, while his 19.2 QB rating against leads the NFL. Overall, PFF grades Fuller the fifth best corner in the league since Week 8.

Didn't realize he'd been this good.

Sweet. Take the first 8 games last year and the last 8 games this season and we have a pro bowler!

My call to bench him has worked exactly according to plan. You're all welcome.

i just watched a football life on a coach who would tell his players not to have sex. can't remember if it was the paul brown one or vermeil. not that that was even close to the only one...just reminded me of that.
