Does anyone else think Hammel was so pissed that he got traded 3 months after signing with the Cubs last year that he made it his mission to re-sign with the team and then sabotage their season with poor play? Edited by UMFan83

I mean, I know it has nothing to do with the outcome, but man was it fun listening to the TBS guys begging for a Duda homer today. Congrats guys, you got your wish.

It always cracks me up that everyone who broadcasts our playoff games can't wait to get us out of the playoffs.

God I'm over back to the future for life

Oh God, now people are gonna say we're cursed by Back to the Future. Ugh.

Not from me, just tired of hearing about it all year, and especially today

#1 priority next season is to get a quality SP. Hammel can't be on this team next season he's been awful for the entire 2nd half.

find a way to break a curse, do whatever you have to. this team is capable of winning a world series.

hey, remember in 2003 when we hadn't lost 3 in a row all year until the nlcs, just when we were about to make it to the series? anybody remember 1984? they can't get there, it cannot be explained.

Hammel's first inning thing has to be mental at this point because you know he's going to go 1-2-3 next inning.

I would rather him get in his car and drive away from the park.

No, I prefer he'd be caught stealing one and be quieted away to Homan Square.

I think it is hilarious that Wood is coming in.

Should've just started him and gone full bullpen. I would've been 100% fine with it.

Hammel bitching about getting pulled early from games back in like July and then having the second half that he had will be funny at some point in the future. Not quite there yet for me right now though...

Are the Mets just TONS better or are these kids having trouble handling the pressure? And what happened to Arrieta??

This is what I hate. Both teams are full of young players. Why the hell did it have to be US that collapsed spectacularly? Why couldn't their young pitching implode instead of our young hitting? Why did Arrieta suddenly peter out when the Mets pitchers are also pitching a lot of innings? Or maybe neither team collapses and we could actually have a competitive series?

[expletive] luck.

It's a combo of terrible umps, lack of base runners, and folding under pressure. The Mets have a great staff but they are not better than the Cardinals or Pirates as a team IMO.

Arrieta ran out of gas I think. He's human.

For some reason, I feel irrationally angry at the Nationals for not putting any pressure on the Mets at the end of the season.

then it would just be the nationals gutting us. no matter who it is, they would win and something weird would happen.

Tell me what exactly is cursing the Cubs. Point to its source for me, in physical terms.

I've been traveling. Have I missed anything?

Enough already. The curse this team had until this point was mismanagement. At the beginning of the year, .500 was the popular pick. This team way overachieved.

I'm going to post on here about how [expletive] pissed off I am at all the non baseball fans and fans of completely irrelevant [expletive] franchises like Cincinnati reveling in this so that I don't lose friendships tonight.

Absolutely the most frustrating series of the entire year. No leadoff hit in any inning. No lead in the entire series. Defensive lapses.

Really sad to end our season this way.

Good luck trading Hammel. My actual hope is we limit the innings and he's somewhat useful out of the pen.

But no ones trading for his carcass.
