So, we were moving the ball effectively against them all second half. But then you decide to go to the Shoop offense and just hand the ball back to them with plenty of time. Completely illogical

That was less of a catch than the Calvin Johnson not-catch.

 

The difference is Calvin Johnson went to the ground attempting the catch. Golden Tate caught the ball on the run. Different catch rules apply.

 

Going to the ground - Have to complete the process of the catch all the way to the ground

Catching on the run - Have to make a football move

 

It's an apples and oranges comparison to compare Tate with Johnson.
