So Iowa's top 2 running backs are out, and they're up by 30 over Northwestern on the road. I don't get football.

Yeah, didn't see Iowa putting up 40 on them.

This targeting rule is one of the dumbest penalties I've ever seen. It's completely objective and arbitrary and it results in an automatic ejection.

Bolden from UM just got tossed because an MSU player pushed him into Cook and was ejected and UM was penalized 15 yards. Last week a NW player hit UM late, it was called targeting and then reviewed and the call wa a overturned and no penalty at all given despite a late hit. What a stupid rule.

He was absolutely blocked onto the guy and I don't understand the call all. Absolutely horrible.

That was a pretty bad call.

Yes it was a bad call.

I am happy with MSUs performance today. I am sure we have out gained Michigan. A couple of big returns given up suck, but overall kind of happy. I don't understand why Michigan isn't attacking us downfield, but defense has gotten good pressure.

Iowa is the team I thought NU was two weeks ago. This is a bizarre season all around...

Refs have been pretty [expletive] in the MSU/Michigan game.

Terrible. The targeting call was indefensible. The late hit when the player leaped before the the play was dead was stupid but I've seen worse. Having to review 3 consecutive TDs and overturning the first 2. And I understand the Butt catch wasn't inconclusive but throw us a damn bone. And then the ref just announced a penalty on Michigan State as being on Michigan and then left his mic on while Harbaugh yelled at him and he admitted he fucked up. In a normal game thats a funny moment, in this particular game its more evidence of the officials blatant bias or something (kidding, they've just incompetent)

I'm sure there was some bad calls on State but I'm watching with biased eyes

the block in the back call that was reversed was questionable. I don't like the call for late hit, but I think it is an easy penalty to avoid. There was no point to jump on.

IU/Rutgers in a Big 12 classic. 52-46 with 9 minutes left. IU was down 27-24 at halftime, then scored 28 straight in the first half of the 3rd quarter. Now Sudfeld has turned it over on every drive and IU is probably going to give up the lead this drive. Probably a good thing if IU loses, because I can never have a perfect weekend with my teams.

And IU gives up the lead as I hit submit.

Edit 2: blocked PAT. Tied at 52

And now UMFan is dead.

Thank God there's a Cubs NLCS game coming up in 30 mins. Easily among the top 3 worst sports losses in my life.

Thank you Cubs for giving me a reason to not be spitting fire about blowing this game. Plus, that Michigan-MSU ending.

That UM ending was absolutely brutal. I thought ND had figured out all the horrible ways to lose games the last decade or so but they certainly haven't ever lost one like that.

In the same spot again, I have to think any coach would just have the QB run around and then chuck the ball way downfield. At least force the other team to make a huge play.

ND far from impressive tonight (Brian VanGorder should not be the ND DC anymore), but they managed to pull one out.

MSU didn't even send anyone back to return the punt. All UM had to do was have their punter catch the snap and kick it in the air and they win. Hell even after the muff, if he just falls on it at the 40, MSU has 6 seconds to either convert a Hail Mary or gain 20 yards while getting out of bounds in 5 seconds to have a reasonable attempt at a FG into the wind. Their win probability was apparently 99.8%. Basically 2 rather improbable errors had to occur plus MSU had to set up blockers and return it for a TD.

I just don't see any reason to do anything differently except for hindsight
