I just realize I just accidentally typed "if I were a Cubs", but I kind of like it so I won't edit. I also need to start proofing texts better.

Castro Since August 1st (142PAs), not counting tonight.

.343/.369/.552

The buy low on Castro is officially over, if someone wants him they're going to have to offer someone big.

I'm thinking our current fielding configuration might be what we go with in the WC game (subbing Montero for Ross). Bryant-Fowler-Schwarber in the OF, Baez-Russell-Castro-Rizzo in the IF.

Wasn't Castro statistically the worst player in the league at one point this season?

He still has an OBP below .300 and an OPS below .670. Whatever the case though, hopefully his trade value is up there again.

yes but at least he's only 20th on this list now

not bad for semi-sporadic play over 2 months after 4 months of everyday play that had him much higher on the list

It's not bad at all considering where he was but you have to be good over the course of an entire season. I know he's not going to be as good as he's been in September the entire year but at this point he's just making up for the terrible play up until July.

Eat all of the [expletive], Cardinal fan scum.

Still think a Baez/Russell starting middle infield is appealing if you can get a good starter for Starlin. No ball is getting past that infield.

Except apparently Jackson is in CF right now.

Here's why the awesome thing that's happening right now isn't awesome and why the Cardinals give me a boner.

He hitched his wagon to hating Castro and damned if he's going to get off now that it's toppling off of a cliff.

If Phillips would've made the play Starlin did a few innings ago, Thom would've gone into 15 minute rant about Barney winning the gold glove in 2012.

let's not go too far

he's still a massive risk to lay a giant turd and that factors in to his value. it's not like you can just go around trading guys based on their last 2 months.

the infield with castro at 2B and javy at 3B is probably even better

lmao

is he gonna be doing our playoff games this year

It's no secret the Cubs tried to shop around Castro at the deadline. He's a low OBP, below average defender guy. If you can improve your rotation by trading him, you do it. The Cubs have enough middle infield talent to get by.

I thought you were talking about Starlin and I was all set to be like, "OH [expletive], THAT'S EDGY."

Just started watching. I see Lester gave up a run in the first. Going to go back and see if we had anybody freaking out...

Edit: well, that was boring.

I love how all of your posts begging to trade to Castro also try to make him sound as unappealing as possible.
