To put these split-squad lineups in perspective, here was the starting lineup on September 29, 2013.

Castro

Watkins

Rizzo

Schierholtz

Sweeney

Murphy

Bogusevic

Boscan

Castro and Rizzo were bad that year, too.

Javy destroying AA was like the only fun thing to follow day-to-day in 2013. The draft turned out to be awesome, but Bryant didn't play much that year.

It's getting to the point where I'm merely amused and not angry at St. Louis and Pittsburgh never losing. I feel like we're better than either.

I'll see names like Bogusevic and be like "oh yeah, I forgot he played for the Cubs," but I literally have no idea who Boscan is and not the faintest recollection of him ever existing.

Cubs have now matched the 2003 Cubs with 88 wins. 1 more and we reach 2004, 2 more and we reach 1998

screw that. one more and we reach 1998 (even though sammy's HRs would've counted had he hit any)

I remember Bryant's first game in A: 0-5, 5Ks.

yes, but the one game playoff makes my ass twitch.

holy [expletive] line drive hit right at walker with two men on. inning over for the rockies.

That Soler home run made me [expletive] giddy. Cruise into the postseason with a fixed Castro and a reborn Soler AND Baez and watch the scum topple over.

Yeah, it's pretty terrifying to think about.

Those 2013 2nd half pitchers put up ERAs that looked like movie concession prices.

I mean, seriously, we went out and got Austin Jackson because we thought our depth was lacking -- which it was. And now Javy, Jorge, and Starlin are all mashing. And Rat Boy is healthy and producing.

Haha, yeah. Even without the "depth" need I still really like having Jackson around for defense late in games with 2 of Schwarber/Coghlan/Soler likely starting every playoff game.

I refuse to believe that Boscan is a real person. That sounds like a name made up on the spot for a fake girlfriend or something.

If they had actually picked up a non-disastrous starting pitcher I'd think they'd be invincible. As it stands they are merely nigh-invincible.

Travis Wood led the team in WAR that year.
