A little surprised Mason Foster didn't make the team.

The Bears have waived tackle Jordan Mills, per source.

I thought he made the initial 53 man cut yesterday. So I assume we'll see a corresponding roster move, picking up some other teams waived player.

They already announced they picked up a G that TB waived who started 16 games for them last year.

Hm definitely sounds like Long to RT then.

Any Bears fans know anything about David Baas? Titans claimed him off waivers today from Chicago.

Decent player, always seemed to make the most out of limited reps. Good reserve 4-3 DE.

Also I wonder if, with 3 QBs projected to go in the top 5-7, the Bears are somewhat tanking the season. No one would ever admit it and perhaps the closest Pace will come is admitting that it's a rebuilding year, but if there was ever a reason to tank, this season would be it for these reasons:

-aforementioned top QBs

-potentially murderous early schedule

-a sort of manageable way to cut Cutler after this season

-First round pick is already out for the season most likely

There's really no other way to land a franchise QB than the draft. There are a few exceptions but not many. if you want to get out of QB purgatory and give yourself a better shot of competing in the future this is probably the way to go.

Thanks. He'll apparently be playing 3-4 OLB for the Titans so hopefully he'll be an upgrade over Jonathan Massoquai.

UMF, what qbs are you talking about?

If you're talking Goff, Cook, and like Hackenberg (lol) I'd rather draft BPA high and take a flier on Braxton Miller or something.

I don't follow prospects that much, I just looked up a walterfootball mock draft. They had Cardale Jones 1st, Hackenberg 3rd and Cook 5th.

This was in late July though

Not sure if I'm more concerned by McCarthy being cocky enough to supposedly say this or by Fox's response

Meh, coaches always undersell their teams before the game. McCarthy is more unusual here than Fox is.

wasn't it just some fan luncheon thing to celebrate the start of the season? i don't see anything weird about this at all.

Hackenberg is college Jay Cutler. I still like him, but feel bad for him. He needs to be protected in order to remotely succeed.

Cook is Matt Ryan. Decent QB. Will have a decent NFL career, but he's needs a surrounding cast. Not a guy like Luck, Brees, Brady, Manning who can make anyone look good.

Goff is scary. He could be awesome based on his college stats and measurables. But he's in the most gimmicky of gimmick offenses.

Cardale, I freaking love. I don't care if it's rational or not. He would be fun to watch for 16 games in a Bears uniform.

You probably have to take Jones or Cook if either is there when the Bears draft, but this is shaping up to be a great draft. I like the top 2 OL too, the #1 CB (Hargreaves), and the ILBs (Jack, Smith) also.
