I was way more pissed about the Rizzo collision which happened at the exact same moment as the pick.

what?

is he ok?

Yeah. He stayed in the game and the Cubs tied it on that play.

Why was that unnecessary roughness?

Lead with the helmet on a defenseless receiver on the ground?

He didn't lead with the helmet, although I thought he had originally.

i had almost forgotten about that how ridiculous that delicious ending for GB last year was

oh look the [expletive] packers covered

yeah, the argument was never "you should bet on the bears"

That's not how it works. $20 down the drain and I blame you.

That didn't go quite as poorly as expected. I think this team wins 7 or 8 this year, unfortunately.

Passing on 4 straight plays inside the 5 with the way Forte played was absolutely inexplicable. I think we'd still have lost, but we'll never know for sure. Fox/Gase definitely [expletive] the bed there.

They played a really good offense, but for at least today the defense showed very little improvement. TOP and GB penalties kept points off the board early, but more of the same after that. Not enough pressure, can't wrap up the RB, etc. Coverage started out okay but deteriorated in the 2nd half. Green Bay makes every defense look bad though, so we'll see.

I didn't think Cutler had a terrible game, but as per usual this will be on him.

My bad. :banghead:

I'm really not sure if I should be encouraged or not. Offense moved the ball but I get the feeling the Packers D isn't all that great. When we can run the ball obviously everything looks better...didn't get the feeling the passing game was really crisp but that could be because our 3 WRs have barely played or practiced this year.

Defensively we sucked but it's the Packers so who knows if it will be better. Plus a new system so I would expect it to improve as the year goes on.

I guess I'm slightly more encouraged by the Bears performance today but not by a lot

After the game, I had to go for a drive to run errands. While flipping around on local radio, I made a horrific discovery:

Mike North is back on Chicago radio. He was doing a post game show.

Within the first five minutes, he argued the Bears could have done better in the game if they had started David Fales because Jim Harbaugh once said some nice things about him. Things went downhill from there.

I swear at least half the calls he took were crank calls. There can't be that many morons out there.

Who is giving Mike North work?

Eh. The Packers were stacking the box and playing man on every receiver. Playcalling was horrible, but moreso because of the route designs. Though, I do think a toss would have had a good chance of working though, if the receivers got blocks outside.

The defense showed a ton of improvement, IMO. They actually were able to cover at times. Huge improvement over the last 2 years. The front 2 (Bears played only 2 DL on all non-goaline plays) were all pretty strong. Sutton had a good start. Goldman was pretty good. Jenkins was solid. Ego didn't do much though. The edge guys didn't do much in the way of pass rush, though McPhee is pretty good against the run. Shea didn't embarrass himself out there, despite missing some tackles and getting dragged by Lacy a couple times. Amos played really well, I thought. Fuller was good for most of the game. Rolle and Allen were terrible though from what I could tell. Ball was bad. But overall, hold Rodgers to 189 yards and you should win the game.
