Nice. Jackson's useful, can now be on the postseason roster and cost nothing. Thumbs up.

Huh. Wasn't expecting it but not a bad move it looks like. We didn't really have anyone that can play CF in a pinch either so that's nice.

This is such a low risk move that it doesn't necessarily imply anything, but I would think this doesn't look good for seeing Soler again this year.

don't think it has anything to do with soler's health

Yeah, maybe it's just a Denorfia/Sczcur upgrade. I just wonder if they're worried about Soler getting healthy right at the end of the year since there won't be anywhere to go for a quick rehab assignment. I guess just hope we've got a spot locked up with a week to go so we have some games to play with.

Very nice move. I'm very happy with it but I can't help but point out another move that helps us win the 2012 World Series :)

This solves a number of issues for us, but I think the biggest is that its a much better option against lefthanders than Denofria (.767 OPS this year vs. .550 something for Denofria). It also gives us a solid replacement at CF god forbid something happens to Fowler.

He's certainly better than Denorfia.

Offensively they're practically clones.

Career Lines:

Jackson

.273/.334/.400/.733 (OPS+ 101)

Denorfia

.275/.329/.389/.718 (OPS+ 102)

I know nothing of Jackson's defense though....

You can't compare Jackson and Denorfia for the simple reason that Jackson is a legit defensive CF. Apples and oranges.

It's a nice pickup. Jackson is a pretty solid 4th OF and good insurance for Fowler.

To be fair, if you subtract Denorfia's success playing against the Cubs his line looks worse. He always killed us when he was on the Padres and I haven't forgiven him.

Phil Rogers, "Not sure he's an upgrade over Matt Szczur, I like Matt Szczur."

Oh, good God.

And they'll literally both be on the team tomorrow, so there's really no need to compare the two.

Decent pickup at a position of need. Assuming the PTBNL is of little to no significance, I like this quite a bit.

More than likely a Rule 5 guy they wouldn't have kept.

Wow, really like this move. He's also OPSing .774 since the AS Break, as opposed to .649 before it. Plays good defense too. Pleasantly surprised we were able to get him for a non-prospect we wouldn't keep anyway, assuming it's a Rule 5 guy.
