did rizzo have a chance to score?

No, ball was on its way in by the time he arrived at 3rd.

still requires an accurate throw to home (and a good bounce if it bounces) and the catcher to make a good play and tag on it.

Chances of Montero (or Denorfia if Montero walks) coming through far better than the chance the Sox screw that play up badly enough to allow Rizzo to score.

strongly disagree with "far better"

Tangential question: how fit is Rizzo? 240 seems pretty hefty -- will he need to trim up once on the "wrong" side of age 30?

Semantics aside, they were better. It would've taken a pretty bad [expletive]-up there for Rizzo to not be out by plenty, and it's the 1st inning, we're already winning, and we'll likely have more chances. I'd have been annoyed with a send there.

He's a bit on the beefy side but I don't think that's fat beef. He's just a big dude.

The ball was at the cutoff as he hit 3rd base, well less than 1/5 chance that Rizzo scores. With a clean exchange it's probably closer to a rundown than him being safe.

As long as he eats right and hits the gym he will be fine!

KatJ, to answer your question he looks like a NFL linebacker though

Anyone recall what KWood weighed in his prime? Rizzo's build reminds me of his.
