North Side Baseball has rankings defined based on the number of posts. Once you post 25 times, you'll be an "Everyday Player". If you post enough, you'll elevate up to an "All-Star".

Could 100 posts be the magic All-Star number?

Or should there be some qualitative measure added? Frankly, 100 "Hey, how ya doin'?" posts don't strike me as much of a qualification. Perhaps 100 or some other number would be the threshhold at which someone would be *considered* for All-Star status.

Man, now I know how Ron Santo feels -- hall-of-famers trying to keep me down. :D

I've set up "Special" ranks and ranks that are determined by the number of posts.

The ranks by the number of posts are:

    Bench Player - 0 Posts
    Everyday Player - 25 Posts
    Veteran Player - 250 Posts
    All-Star - 1000 Posts

I'm still trying to figure out a process for the Special Ranks (the only one I'll mention right now is HOF). I imagine that I'll have some nomination / voting process.

How about using past players on some numbers, like

Billy Williams at 2000

Ernie Banks at 3000

etc...

Just thought I'd give my opinion.

Not a bad idea. I may have to start doing that for people with 10,000 posts. Of course, with the game threads as they are, that could be next week. :D

yes but what is the range ex: all star, five time etc...

5000 posts makes you a 5-time All-Star and 10000 maker you a superstar.

I think 250 and 1000 get you different ranks also.

It's worth noting that quality > quantity.

And quantity does not always mean quality.

i am the perfect example of this :D
