A storm is about to fly by and they will get hit another couple times but the forecast does not look at all like a wash out.

Major League Baseball will do "everything possible" to hold Monday night's Home Run Derby as scheduled, despite a forecast of severe weather in the Cincinnati area, MLB spokesman Pat Courtney told ESPN.com on Monday.

 

Heavy rain was already falling in the city in the early afternoon, and the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch until 8 p.m., with showers and thunderstorms in the forecast until about midnight.

 

Baseball officials have discussed numerous contingency plans which could conceivably include shortening the Derby or holding it on Tuesday afternoon if absolutely necessary.

What the heck? Tuesday afternoon? I mean I'd love to see Rizzo and Bryant in action, don't get me wrong, but why is baseball acting like the HR Derby is so important that they have to fit it in there? I'm guessing its because of the sponsors that pay for time/space during the event.
