I was berated for suggesting Coghlan lead off like 2 weeks ago.

Also, obligatory "weather doesn't look good" post.

you were?

Pirates playoff odds just went down to 29% and their ROSW% dropped to .430. That's a mistake right? McCutchen didn't just cut his hand off or something that I'm not aware of?

Flip Montero and Soler and I am down to clown.

No idea why you would want a guy who was scuffling pretty hard and has just returned from injury batting that high.

Mark Gonzales @MDGonzales

Cubs pitchers 0.80 ERA in past 6 games, 10 bb, 55 k's, opponents' .175 BA. Starters 1.08 ERA, relievers 14 1/3 scoreless innings.

Every time someone posts some optimistic Cubs statline before a Cardinals series, it ends up getting [expletive] on. Like how good our bullpen was going into last week's Busch series only for Strop to give up the game-tying homerun to the scrubbiest scrub imaginable.

Josh Harrison is out 6 weeks but that wouldn't kill their odds that bad.

i would unquestionably take a split in this series.

if you offered me one win out of four, but i didn't have to watch or follow any of the games and i could just wake up thursday morning and see the cubs record reflecting that outcome but not know it was due to getting beaten up by the cardinals again, i'd take that, too.

please no sweep.

So if that nasty strip of storms hits Wrigley what options are left for makeup dates?

We'll be up 13-0 by the 3rd anyway so they'll just call it.

As long as 2015 Eli Marrero gruesomely breaks his leg.

RIP day games

I love night games, but every so often I miss some of the midweek day games that I could follow while at work.
