God I miss Sosa. That first HR - chills

I think

is my favorite Cubs HR of my lifetime though. ([expletive] zombie Joe Buck though)

That's Thom Brennaman

Thanks for posting those videos, guys. Fun memories.

I had the Cardinals 5-run game on DVD at one time but I have no idea where it is now. :(

For some reason the one home run I remember just absolutely losing my mind over was when Barrett hit the grand slam very early in the 2004 season against the Cardinals. I was visiting my folks for my mom's birthday and my dad and I just went completely bonkers when this happened:

the one against the cards was 2006, but he also had a game tying grand slam in the first game of the mackowiak doubleheader in 2004. barrett was my favorite cub for a good stretch.

I have no idea why I said Joe Buck. Yes I do. Because I hate both of them. Brain fart.

Anyway I really hope one day the Cubs and Sosa can make amends. I don't care if he's translucent at this point. He brought me so much happiness as a teenager...I want things fixed between him and the team.

Wasn't that 2006?

Whichever year he hit one in early April that lead to them sweeping the Cardinals.

Yeah that was 2006 and Jacque Jones actually was useful at that point

Punching AJ alphabet went a really long way toward endearing him to me. That, and we had no idea how bad he really was at defense at that point.

Hey, defense shmefense. Fangraphs has his WAR at 2.3, 2.9 and 2.3 in his 3 full years with the Cubs and BR has him at 1.5, 2.0 and 2.3. Ain't no shame in liking Barrett.

That 2006 HR was awesome...was in the bleachers and it felt like a playoff atmosphere. I have a weird trend of loving moments in losing games/seasons though (this 2006 HR, the Sosa HR in game 1 of the NLCS, the Wood HR in game 7, Hester returning the opening kickoff for a TD in the super bowl)

Only UMFan's teams.

I have that same thing though. Zbikowski punt return in 05 USC game (which I attended), the first 37 minutes of the Kentucky game, all the Cubs ones you mentioned, Muhammad's TD in the Super Bowl, etc.

This HR ranks right up there as my favorite. Got to leave school early. Plus this was the first year I watched the Cubs. 1984 NLCS game 1

I was in the LF bleachers for this one. It would have been the best game ever if I wasn't dragged there with a group of people that included one person who kept yelling "flame on!" to Matt Murton.
