Collmenter doesn't walk anybody but doesn't strike anybody out either. Kris Bryant should go 4-5.

Tony LaRussa basically runs the Diamondbacks now, so odds are Collmenter will not survive the season depending on taxi availability in Phoenix.

The D-Backs offense is Paul Goldschmidt and the 2nd best Tuffy in MLB history. They have a better pythag than us which can only mean pythag is stupid and/or broken because they're actually terrible. Let's win.

I predict a Cubs win. Bryant goes yard, Castro is 2-3, and Rizzo just owns.

Russell might do something cool too.

Soler's going to srike out, though... at least once... I know, it's a bummer.

It is pretty great to have the top 3 going up against such a crap team (even if they're apparently a wildly unlucky one). Go Cubs

I hope this weekend set doesn't turn out the same way as the 2 series against the Brewers. Given the pitching matchups, Cubs should win 2 of 3, but #baseball

I hope not either... hate to think of this as a trap game series... lets get this done !!

For some reason, I was really hoping that with Castillo out of the way, they'd go to more of a straight platoon.

Slightly disappointing, but Lake is probably in the lineup too because they're in the middle of 11 straight games without facing a LH starter, so maybe we'll see some variation as the season progresses.

Looking at Collmenter's fangraphs page shows some weird pitch usage:

65% Cutter

27% Change

7% Curve

Also of note: so far this year, each of those pitches grades out as below average.

Let's make this one a laugher.

It's a tribute to home runs and pitching that we won 3 of 5 games in a stretch in which we didn't have a hit with RISP. Today is an excellent day to collect some of those.

Probably because he relies on the cutter and the change, Collmenter has reverse splits. He gets hit hard by everyone, but slightly harder by right handers.

They have a good looking lineup for a bad team

Why do you say that?
