Burnett has been good, but not as good as his 1.60 ERA represents (3.06 FIP, 3.41 xFIP, 87.7% strand rate). He turns in his first non-quality start of the year, giving up four runs through six, which isn't enough to best Arrieta, who gives up two through seven. Cubs win their seventh straight.

Have the Cubs faced Burnett this year? Seems odd considering they've played the Pirates 75% of the games so far.

If this gets rained out (yes, I know ha ha ha), do you think they make it up tomorrow with both teams being off?

Since the threat of rain is only for a few hours, I think what you'd see instead is an extreme willingness to wait it out, even if it meant playing/resuming tonight.

Jesus. That's basically the cruelest teasing possible given what was to come.
