Is Torres not that fast? I feel like I haven't seen him even attempt a steal in a while.

I don't think his speed is anything special. I know they aren't necessarily related but with reports that he's likely not a SS long-term I think you could take an educated guess his speed/quickness isn't all that great.

Youngest position player (2nd-youngest player overall) in the Southern League now after being promoted.

Javy now 2-4. Wada with a strong seven innings.

I would argue the McKinney promotion should have happened weeks ago, but apparently he was being disciplined for a lax attitude about defense in ST. If he can continue to rake in AA at his age, he really has to be taken seriously as an elite-ish prospect.

Where did you see that about him being disciplined?

I've kind of been assuming something like that, but I haven't seen it stated anywhere.

Neil reported it on CCO a couple weeks ago.

was there any indication why wada was scratched from his start a day or two ago? was that to put him on the same schedule as the guy he'd potentiall be replacing (wood)?

I didn't hear anything besides the little bit of speculation from Tuesday. Seems pretty likely that it was to line him up with Wood(or Hendricks I guess) considering there's no other big reason to do it and Wada has been rehabbing at Iowa for a month now.

just read this: http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/sports/baseball/iowa-cubs/2015/05/14/iowa-cubs-tsuyoshi-wada-rehab-nashville-sounds-minior-league-baseball/27327227/

Speculation that the Cubs were making plans to bring him back to the big leagues built earlier in the week when Wada's start, originally planned for Tuesday, was pushed back to Thursday — lining up with struggling Chicago starter Travis Wood.

But, Iowa pitching coach Mike Cather said earlier in the week that the decision was made to give Wada a little more time to work with his command on his fastball.
