So it doesn't matter if it hits the glove, that seems like a future loophole. Just whack any ball in the gap there to prevent a triple or a run scoring from first.

You can't use the stupid vine rule when you can see the [expletive] ball. God this game is so [expletive] stupid

Yes you can. Even when the green has sprouted you can often see it but the rule is the same.

I'll never understand how people who agree to sing the stretch have no [expletive] clue what the cadence to this song is.

I wonder how well they can hear up there. I'd be terrified to do it unless I could see someone conducting me from the pipe organ, and then only if I were wearing earplugs.

You... wonder if they can hear the organ, from inside the park? Why would you wonder that?

not a loophole at all. Knocking it in there is in no way shape or form a good idea since you are not guaranteed it will stick there.

He clearly had an in-ear monitor in his ear and he still fucked it up. This tradition tops the list of stupid traditions

Intentionally whacking a ball out of play and deflecting a ball out of play are handled different in other rules, so I don't see why they couldn't be here.

bet they walk rizzo. There's only two outcomes to a Bryant AB. 500ft home run or awkward swing at changeup in the dirt followed by boos. ohhhh being a cubs fan. Edited by DiamondMind

This is shaping up to be the most infuriating loss since Game 1 of the 2008 NLDS.

Game 3 of the 2008 NLDS I think would have that title.

well that answers my question of how much of a delay mlb.tv is on, as you posted this when he was still on a 2-2 count on my feed

I'm not talking about winding up and golfing a ball 15 feet to the vines.

I'm not a physicist, but sound travels slower than sight, and music especially does funny things in big spaces.
