I don't like that he's wearing #17. Part of me misses Grace from back in the day, even though by many accounts he was a douchebag IRL.

Even if you do miss him and have absolutely nothing against, why would you be the least bit upset with the super stud now wearing that number?

Some people might like to fantasize that the number got retired.

I never understood this thought process. It's not an insult to wear a number somebody wore before you.

Idc that its Graces number I just wish he had a cool number like 3 or 7 or hell give him Rynos 23..

Any reason why changeups are pretty easy for viewers on TV to pick up, but not batters?

Pretty frustrating to see us constantly swinging at pitches below the zone.

That would be wrong, even though Ryno left after being passed to be the Cubs manager,

They're not easy for TV viewers to recognize before they're way too late to start swinging at

By the time you recognize the changeup on TV, the time to decide to swing has already come and gone.

Because we don't have to pick it up in the first 10-15 feet out of his hand.

Yeah and to add to this, it's coming in on the same plane of a pitch that's 5-10 MPH faster than a changeup and suddenly darting straight down.

Right, I guess it's hindsight speaking, once you already know they swung at a bad pitch. You don't actually recognize that it was going to be out of the zone until after the fact.

Maybe the vantage point of a camera in center field vs. the vantage point of a batter in the box has a lot to do with it.
