- Pitching Change: Armando Rivero replaces Drake Britton, batting 6th.

- Xavier Scruggs homers (1) on a line drive to left center field. Scott Moore scores.

I was hoping to mature as a baseball fan over the last few years where the Cubs games didn't really matter. You know, see the bigger picture and not overreact to small sample sizes?

Didn't work. This team is infuriating me today.

The thing is, the team was bound to have this frustrating of a stretch during a random three game stretch during the season

But why does it have to during the first three games? It reinforces the notion that we're going to get more of the same shitty Cubs luck for yet another year. Especially since the team has already been historically bad with RISP the past few years. Makes me wonder if the players have a certain debilitating mentality that's keeping them from hitting as well as you'd expect from a professional ballplayer.

What is it about this [expletive] shitastic team that I just can't stop paying attention to? God it's so infuriating that I just can't walk away and give up on them for good.

I've been lurking for the past few years. Now that the team is ostensibly good again, there's reason to be emotionally invested in these games, a decision which isn't really paying off so far.

i am very impressed with fowler's complete inability to properly pick up the ball in center field

Well they have been some rocket shots. :^o
